Professional background
Dr. Efrat Aharonovich is an Israeli-born, American-trained psychologist. After completing a master's degree in Israel , she came to the United States , where she received a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in New York State . She is fluent in English and Hebrew. She sees both American and Israeli patients.

 Dr. Aharonovich is a member of the faculty of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University . At Columbia , she conducts treatment as well as research on improved treatment methods. Dr. Aharonovich is also affiliated with the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Her publications have appeared in highly distinguished journals such as The American Journal of Psychiatry and The American Journal on Addiction. She is also experienced in the training and supervision of other psychologists and fellows in psychiatry.

Dr. Aharonovich currently has a limited number of openings in her private practice. Among her areas of specialty are depression, addiction, family and interpersonal relationships, and adjustment after immigration.
